A trip to Los Angeles

by Camilla Nørager

The city of angels, the movie-star city or L.A., these are but a few of the names used to refer to the largest city in the state of California!

Los Angeles is an exuberant metropolis filled with artists, surfers, musicians, aspiring actors and movie stars. There are not a whole lot of tourist attractions to find in the city, but it is just the place for enjoying life. It is a city for living.

What to experience:

Los Angeles is an incredibly famous city, and it is definitely worth a visit. Celebrities, Hollywood, glitter and glamor are all found here, but the city is so much more than just that. Besides stars, movie studios and amusement parks, Los Angeles offers idyllic parks, dreamy beaches, museums and much more.

Venice Beach: an incredible beach area about 14 miles west of Los Angeles. It is especially known for its colorful, bohemian and alternative vibes. Take a walk down the promenade and enjoy the calm sound of the waves.

The Grammy Museum: take a walk through the entire music industry and all of its history. At the Grammy Museum they believe that music is a gateway to learning and they use incredible artifacts, interactive experiences and exhibits to prove it.

Universal Studios: one of the must-see attractions in Los Angeles located in the San Fernando Valley area. It is one of the oldest and most recognised movie studios in the world, where many and many of the movies and series we all love have been created.
It also functions as an amusement park, with impressive shows using 3D and 4D effects.

Santa Monica: west of Los Angeles you will find this dreamy coastal town with great beaches. Relaxation mixed with entertainment is what is found here. Take a stroll down Santa Monica Pier, enjoy the rides at Pacific Park or of course Santa Monica Beach.

Rodeo Drive: the most luxurious street in Beverly Hills. It is known for its celebrity sightings and exclusive high-end stores. Take a walk down the street and enjoy the experience of the surroundings.

Where to live:

There are many great neighborhoods in Los Angeles that can be used as a base when visiting. The city is quite massive and spread out, therefore it is highly recommended to do some research before deciding where to stay. We have collected our top choices to inspire you.

West Hollywood: if you love shopping, celebrity sightings and a fun atmosphere, this is the place for you. There are lots of great restaurants, vintage shops and markets. This area is much loved by the locals too!

Los Feliz: this relaxed hillside enclave next to Glendale is great when traveling on a budget. The architecture in this neighborhood is fascinating and incredible, which is definitely grand enough to convince most people to stay there.

Beverly Hills: this is another great place for celebrity spotting. It is located between the coastal areas and Hollywood, and is definitely the more luxurious of places. However, there are also areas in Beverly Hills that are more budget friendly - it offers a little something for everyone.

Downtown LA: this is just the place for you if you are a night owl. It is the heart and soul of Los Angeles, and a great spot for cultural and business minded people. There is always something going on, so you will never be bored staying here.

Long Beach: another more budget friendly place - and right by the beautiful beaches of Orange County! This large city feels more like a small town. There are a lot of family friendly parks and big green outdoor spaces.

So, now you can go and experience all these places and attractions that Los Angeles has to offer for yourself. Remember to enjoy all the new impressions, and take in every minute of it. And then, when you come back home, with a bag full of memories, we are here to help you capture and preserve them on posters.
